Melissa Ellis Named OCAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

Melissa Ellis – OCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Melissa Ellis, a Northern Collegiate graduate and forward on the Lambton College Women’s Basketball Team, was named OCAA Women’s Basketball “Female Athlete of the Week” for her games last weekend at Sheridan College and Humber College.

Melissa scored 14 points with 13 rebounds in a 64-53 Lambton victory over Sheridan on Saturday. On Sunday, Melissa added 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 62-54 loss to the Humber Hawks.

Melissa is currently in 12th place overall in OCAA Women’s Basketball with 179 points. Riley Williams of the Lions is 8th overall with 200 points. Amanda Orr, also of Lambton is 15th overall with 155 points. Ellis is currently leading the nation in rebounding.

The Ladies are currently in 7th place in the West Division and are competing in Sudbury this weekend.
