The Sarnia Lady
Sting Midget A
opened the first
round of
playoffs last
weekend with a
home and home
series against
Saugeen-
Maitland.
In the first
game, the Lady
Sting travelled
to Teeswater and
ended up on the
wrong side of a
4-2 loss. The
Lady Sting did
hold a 2-1 lead
with 5:30
minutes to go in
the game, when
Saugeen would
strike twice in
a 2minute period
to take a 3-2
lead. Saugeen
would add an
empty net goal
late in the
period to take
the 2 points.
Scoring for the
Lady Sting were
Tabetha Duquette
and Lauren
Wilson. Brooke
Kirkland had a
strong game in
net for the Lady
Sting.
In the second
game of the home
and home, Sarnia
was determined
not to be
eliminated from
the post season,
and handed
Saugeen a 3-0
loss to even the
series at 2
points each.
Scoring for the
Lady Sting were
Teighan MacNeill,
Marissa Johnson
and Vanessa
Wardell. Ashley
Norland was in
net for the Lady
Sting and the
Shut-out.
The Lady Sting
will return to
Teeswater on
Saturday
February 14, for
the final game
of the 4 point
series.
