The Sarnia Legionnaires had
a banner night at Monday's
annual Western Jr. 'B'
hockey awards banquet in
Leamington.
In fact, four Legionnaires
were honored, including
forward Davis Boyer and
defenceman Tyler Prong, both
of whom named to the first
all-star team.
Boyer was also a Most
Valuable Player runner-up.
Goalie Andrew Masters,
meanwhile, was chosen as
February's netminder of the
month and forward Ryan
Vendramin was selected as
offensive player of the
month.
Here's how they earned their
hardware:
|
Davis Boyer:
Boyer scored 29
goals and 44
assists during
the regular
season,
finishing second
in the
conference
scoring race. In
one
unforgettable
contest last
October, he was
credited with
six goals and
two helpers. And
that set a
modern franchise
record.
|
Tyler Prong:
Prong had three
goals and 17
helpers in just
39 games. He was
also an
important part
of the Sarnia
power-play,
picking up six
points while the
Legionnaires
enjoyed a man
advantage.

|
|
Andrew Masters:
Masters posted a
5-1 won-lost
record in
February. Along
the way he
defeated the
first place
Leamington
Flyers and the
fourth ranked
LaSalle Vipers.
His conquest of
the Vipers came
right in
LaSalle.
|
Ryan Vendramin:
Vendramin had nine goals and six assists during the seven games the Legionnaires played in February.
Included in his stats were a pair of four-point games.
