Bowlers Share Spotlight on the Lanes

Bowling Scores for Week of Feb 28
 

Roy Mezzatesta, Rod Honke, Justin Romanik, Tyler Robertson, Melissa Crowe and Sharon Pearson
shared the spotlight on the lanes this past week in Lambton County Tenpin Association (LCTA) bowling action.

              Mezzatesta demonstrated his strong bowling skills with a fantastic week at Marcin Bowl. He rolled 792 (278-245-269) in the LCTA Men’s Doubles Tournament to record the week’s high triple. He also shot 779 (245-255-279) in the Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League and 748 (290-257) in the Border City Men’s League.    

               Honke hurled a perfect game in the Border City Men’s League at Marcin Bowl.  It was his career 2nd perfect game coming after a ten year drought. He tossed his first one in the LCTA Team Tournament in January 2005. The achievement happened on lanes 13 & 14 in his second game and he finished the night with 725 (248- 300 – 90 pins over average). It was the 8th perfect game in the LCTA bowling action this season.    

              Romanik fired 771 (248-276-247) in the Sunday Morning Men’s League at Marcin Bowl to record the third best triple in LCTA bowling this week.

              Robertson had a super day in the LCTA Men’s Doubles Tournament as he posted 707 (239-254 – 96 pins over average – 233 pins over average for three games).

              Crowe tossed 692 (290 – 90 pins over average) in the LCTA Women’s Doubles Tournament to register the ladies high triple of the week.       

              Melissa Crowe and Sharon Pearson were triumphant this past weekend at Marcin Bowl, defeating twenty-four teams in the LCTA Women’s Double Tournament. The top six teams with handicap were Melissa Crowe/Sharon Pearson (1599), Cherie Whitsitt/Marsha Pinel (1537), Cynthia Vance/Nicole Wilson (1535), Shannon Burr/Valerie Tanner (1533), Pearl Brown/Adwina Whitsitt (1527) and Louisa Sharp/Ashley Corr (1526). The top six scratch teams were Melissa Crowe/Sharon Pearson (1155), Joanne VanEkeren/Jocelyn VanEkeren (1005), Colleen Baldwin/Carley Gibb (1000), Wendy Lapointe/Shirley Matthews (991), Patricia David/Miranda David (986) and Cherie Whitsitt/Marsha Pinel (985). Additional Individual upper scratch scores were Marsha Pinel 623 (246), Jocelyn VanEkeren 593 (221), Miranda David 561, Wendy Lapointe 213 and Steph Chambers 211.

        Tyler Robertson and Corey Lefebvre were also victorious defeating thirty-nine teams in the LCTA Men’s Double Tournament. The top six teams with handicap were Tyler Robertson/Corey Lefebvre (1696), Matt Farr/Terry Bradburn (1676), Tom Ladenchuk/Rob Ladenchuk (1595), Bill Best/Jeff Raymond (1588), Roger Croteau/George Reid (1586) and Justin Parkkila/Mike Marciniszyn (1584). The top six scratch teams were Jim Creasor/Roy Mezzatesta (1477), Kyle Adamson/Pat Lacasse (1444), Justin Parkkila/Mike Marciniszyn (1428), Larry Plumb /Scott Salmons (1412), Roger Croteau/George Reid (1367) and Bill Best/Jeff Raymond (1363).            Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Six will take place on March 3rd at 6:30. Come out and challenge the PBA lane oil conditions. Melissa Crowe is the defending champion from Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Five.         

          Kevin McMillan rolled 748 (258-255-235) in Marcin Thursday Night Mixed League activity. He was tailed by Adam Pinel 713 (235-266), Shane Chipman 694 (267-228), Kevin Dunn 643 (269 – 79 pins above average), Butch Wilson 638 (242), Pat McMillan 621 (235), Mike Vail 592 (221), Buck McIver 245, Pete Baker 227, Brian Johnson 216, Steve Brain 211 and Dan Williams 201. The ladies’ top scores were Pam Marciniszyn 631 (247), Janice McMillan 585 (210), Marsha Pinel 527, Catherine Baldwin 523, Miranda David 522 (192), Colleen Baldwin 510, Bridget Smiley 489 and Christie Cata 199.         In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League action, leading scores were Karen Corr 458 (168), Carrie Wood 452 (169) and Adwina Whitsitt 433 (171). Team standings are “Hot Dog” 121, Donkey Kong’s 113, Lamb Chops 106, Ditch Pig 99, Rocking Horse 95 and Cow Patti’s 90.

       In Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League activity, the women’s upper scores were Tonie Verbeek 484 (173), Crystal Borody 467 (187) and Denise Walker 461. The men’s noted scores were Richard Murphy 581 (212), Jerry Borody 569 (226), Mike Woodall 531 (241 – 72 pins above average), Joe Borody 226, Joe Bourgeois 220 and Marcel Lajoie 212.

        In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League fun, the ladies’ top scores were Cid Bearhart 527 (195), Julie Young 503 (201) and Annette George 174. The men’s high rollers were Bill Smith 649 (223-223), John Adams 629 (214-224), Brad George 586 (235), Roger Williams 554 (192-192) and Greg Gray 222. 

        In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies League play, leading scores were Brenda Dennis 471, Deb Jones 468, Cheryl Millar 458 and Joy Timington 456. Team standings are Banana Splitz 55, Strikers 54, We’ve Been Framed 52, Alley-Oops 52, Pairs And Spares 43 and Head Pins 40.

        In the Marcin SMAA Senior/Intermediate division, the gents’ high scores were Quincy VanEkeren 607 (201-208), Joshua Trott 554 (235 – 68 pins above average) and Matt Disper 215. The ladies’ top scores were Mikayla Durley 397 (148) and Ashley Toulouse 299 (132).

        In the Marcin SMAA Juniors division, the boys’ best shooters were Jacob Bestard 439 (155), Grant Remes 434 (195 – 78 pins above average), Patrick Cullis 422 (158), Aiden Osborn 164 and Maximillian Michelucci 153. The girls’ main scores were Morgan Pelkie 488 (193), Hollie-Anne Jean 405 (154), Jordan Eaton 366 (134) and Caprice Hill 139.

       In the Marcin SMAA Preps division, the boys’ were led by Jordan Button 398 (159), Cam Parkkila 394 (168), Ryan Pinel 359 (131) and Joey Windover 336 (125). The girl’s top score was Skylar Thompson with 303 (106).

        In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, leading scores were Cecelia Rochon 293 (123 – 68 pins above average - 128 pins over for three games), Brody Manley 288 (109-109 – 129 pins over for three games), Taylor Button 274 (101), Mya Hanley 260 and Koby Brace 204.
