New Year Brings in High Scores on the Lanes

          The New Year has brought in some super scores on the lanes in Lambton County Tenpin Association (LCTA) bowling action. Chad Zonneville, Kyle Skinner, George Reid, Kyle Adamson and Roy Mezzatesta are the latest bowlers who dominated the pins this week in league competition at Marcin Bowl.

          Zonneville fired 847 (279-290-278 – 193 pins over average for three games) in the Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League tossing 32 out of a possible 36 strikes to own the week’s high triple. He was bowling on lanes 17 & 18 recording his career 2nd 800 series and the 2nd 800 series in LCTA bowling action this season. He holds the LCTA record of 853 (278-298-277) which he established in November 22, 2011.

          Left handed bowler Skinner tossed 807 (290-299 – solid 7 pin - 88 pins over average - 218 - 174 average for three games) in the Sunday Morning Men’s League. It was his highest single game and also his first 800 series of his young bowling career. He was participating on lanes 13 & 14 stringing together twenty-two consecutive strikes in his first two games to record the first 800 series in LCTA this season.

         Reid tossed 780 (289-267) on lanes 15 & 16 in the Marcin Sunday Morning Men’s League.

          Adamson rolled 769 (286 - 75 pins over average - 267) on lanes 17 & 18 in the Marcin Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League.

          Mezzatesta wheeled eleven consecutive strikes only to leave an unapologetic 9 pin to finish with 299 -87 pins over average to record the week’s high single. He was bowling in the Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League on lanes 19 & 20 ending the night with 715 (233).

        Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Four took place on Tuesday night with twenty-eight courageous bowlers participating on the difficult PBA BADGER oil pattern. The top eight bowlers to qualify for match play competition were Steve Lewicki 654 (211-202-241), George Reid 607 (220-222), Jim Creasor 591 (227-203), Dennis Ramsay 567 (210), Jordan Croskery 567, Roy Mezzatesta 550 (228), Kyle Adamson 549 (210) and Jordan Cote 541. Melissa Crowe was at the top position below the cut line with 539. Stephane Sirois also bowled a 212 game in the qualifying round. Steve Lewicki defeated Dennis Ramsay 200-157 in the final match. Steve Lewicki and Roy Mezzatesta each have two victories under their belts in the first four Marcin Bowl Shoot Outs. They are the bowlers to beat in the next Shoot Out which will be held on Tuesday Feb 3rd at 6:30.

          Rounding out the scores from the Marcin Bluewater Monday Night’s Men League were George Reid 736 (268-258), Mark McCarthy 705 (232-246), Mike Marciniszyn 698 (279), Pat McMillan 688 (232-258), Jeff Raymond 686 (267), Jean Guy Morin 684 (246-244), Jim Creasor 683 (266-236), Dennis Ramsay 675 (268), Cory Willemsen 659, Mike Shephard 656 (230), Joe Csercsics 258 – 79 pins over average, Mason McCarthy 256, Jeff Chortos 255, Dave Jones 247, Peter English 247, Pat Lacasse 244, Connor Smith 235, Brian Watson 234, Pete Dufault 232 and Al Scott 230.          Larry Plumb hurled 709 (238-244-227) in Marcin 1046 Mixed League action. He was followed by Scott Salmons 641 (255), Todd Amerlinck 581 (243), Joe Borody 575 (223), John Hoekstra 561 (208), Derrick Wilker 561 (203), Brian Core 549 (246), Tyler Robertson 546 (243 – 94 pins over average), Darren Burgess 539, Dave Hearn 214 and Josh Boyce 213. The ladies’ top scores were Audrey Herbstreit 525 (218 – 85 pins over average) and Kaye Brander 498. Team standings are The Wolfpack 81, Kristen’s Kingpins 75, Larry’s Lemons 67, Reaney’s Renegades 67, We Need The Handicap 67, The Bowling Dead 65, A Family Affair 64, Team Eight 52, The Speedballz 47 and Last To Last 45.

       Marcel Lajoie tossed 706 (239-244-223) in Marcin St. Joe’s Mixed League activity. He was tailed by Joe Borody 634 (215-236), Jerry Borody 609 (203-214), Richard Murphy 554 (192), Albert Verbeek 529 (192) and Dave Long 521 (209). The women’s were led by Tonie Verbeek with 504 (178).

       In Marcin Tuesday Afternoon Mixed League play, the men’s noted scores were Rob Boss 694 (241-236), Roy Baker 599 (259 – 72 pins over average), Richard Murphy 548 (188), Andre Moreault 506 and Norm Vaillant 187. The ladies’ main scores were Lorraine Boss 524 (186), Brigitte Anonymous 511 (203), Lise Patterson 505 (190), Julie Beaudoin 468 and Lilliane Rondeau 187. Team standings are Big Dipper 93, Sun 67, Earth 62, Moon 62, Pluto 58, Milky Way 57, Little Dipper 55 and Saturn 51. 

        In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League action, the men’s high scores were Greg Gray 648 (235-233), John Adams 632 (227-221), Bill Smith 591 (203), Roger Williams 560 (203) and Brad George 202. The women’s upper scores were Jo Ellen Beveridge 540 (199), Julie Young 503 (181-189) and Annette George 482 (178).

        In Marcin Tuesday Night Ladies League activity, leading scores were Dawn Pelkie 631 (215-228), Melissa Crowe 623 (265), Janice McMillan 593 (206-206), Shirley Matthews 570 (257- 102 pins over average), Laura Robertson 562 (200), Bridget Smiley 525 (179), Kathryn Tetreault 514 (179), Diane Willemsen 190, Wendy Lapointe 178 and Bailey Ettinger 178. Team standings are Team Eight 233, Smiley Girlz 231, Split Decision 226, Mel’s Angels 225, Investors Group 208, M.V.B’s 183, B.J’s 176 and Lucky Seven 162.

       In Marcin Sunday Morning Ladies League play, top scores were Joy Timington 474 (170), Deb Jones 468 (177) and Beth Scott 464 (186). Team standings are Strikers 46, Banana Splitz 40, Alley-Oops 38, We’ve Been Framed 33, Pairs & Spares 31 and Head Pins 29.

       In Marcin National Farmers Union Mixed League fun, the men were led by Joe Simmons with 575 (230) while Randy Raaymakers was tops for the women with 504 (182). Team standings are Right Left Centre 5, Two Gals & A Hooker 5, Two Witches & An Ogre 5, No Name 2, Two Chicks And Old Granny 2 and Alley Cats 2.

       In the Marcin SMAA Intermediate/Senior division, the ladies’ main scores were Rachel McGrath 600 (217-210) and Mikayla Durley 416 (162). The gents’ best scores were Quincy VanEkeren 561 (245), Matt Disper 539 (187-191), Brian Riberdy 532 (206), Joshua Trott 513 (200) and Lucas Pawley 462 (191).

       In the Marcin SMAA Juniors division, the girls’ upper scores were Morgan Pelkie 598 (202-211), Hollie-Ann Jean 357 (132), Madison Kehler 346 (152) and Caprice Hill 168. The boys’ noted scores were Manny Ramos 462 (171), Patrick Cullis 401 (151) and Ethan Boucher 394.

       In the Marcin SMAA Preps division, the girls’ top scores were Emily Power 312 (124) and Skylar Thompson 254 (100). The boys’ high scores were Ryan Pinel 369 (132), Kole Parkkila 366 (149), Jordan Button 300 (124), Braeden Scott 143 – 66 pins over average and Noah Gauthier’s 122 single.

       In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, leading scores were Cecelia Rochon 208 (79), Mya Hanley 206 (80), Taylor Button 189 (73), Brody Manley 180 (82) and Olivia Quaid 166 (74).
