 Kongus, Vandermeer and Smith are Week's Top Bowlers

Mel Kongus, Rob Vandermeer and Connor Smith are highlighted in the Lambton County Tenpin Association bowling report this week.

         Kongus experienced the thrill and excitement on the lanes this past week as he tossed his career first 700 series. Kongus recorded 705 (257-224-224) on lanes 21 & 22 in the Border City Men’s League at Marcin Bowl to achieve the first step of the triple crown in tenpin bowling (300-700-800).

       Vandermeer fired 765 (242-235-288) in the Triple A Mixed League at Marcin Bowl to record the week’s high triple.

     Smith tossed 688 (256) in the Marcin Bluewater Monday Night Men’s League at Marcin Bowl to record the youth high triple of the week.

     Marcin Bowl Shoot Out Five will take place on Tuesday February 3rd at 6:30 on a challenging PBA oil pattern lane condition.    

     George Reid rolled 739 (235-279-225) in Marcin House Thursday Night Men’s League exploits. He was pursued by Larry Plumb 712 (246-248), Jim Lapointe 652 (230-226), Louie Willemsen 649 (225), Jean Lacroix Jr. 628 (232), Ryan Skinner 619 (238-235), Ron Charrington 614 (220), Al Scott 607 (224), Geoff Wheeler 572 (222), Mark White 233, Jordan Cote 231, Shawn Cotterill 225, Rudy De Gracia 223 and Mel Matthews 220.        In Airey Lanes Thursday Ladies Happy Hour League play, leading scores were Adwina Whitsitt 474 (168), Ada Brown 465, Lori Japp 455 (171) and Sharon Townes 175. Team standings are “Hot” Dog 101, Lamb Chops 86, Donkey Kong’s 85, Rocking Horse 78, Cow Patti’s 78 and Ditch Pig 76.

       In Marcin Sarnia Reserve Mixed League action, the men’s high scores were Brad George 650 (264- 78 pins over average), Bill Smith 599 (206), Roger Williams 595 (224) and Greg Gray 211.The women’s top scores were Cid Bearhart 533 (191), Annette George 455 (174), Shirley Oliver 451 and Connie Milliken 434.

        In Marcin Friday Night Mixed League activity, the ladies’ noted scores were Marilyn Mullen 484 (188), Barbara Heckley 467 (183), Annette Urban 463 (171), Mary Hearns 459 (173), Sue Sorensen 190 and Marnie McQueen 172.        In the Marcin SMAA Intermediate/Senior division, Rachel McGrath took care of the ladies top scores with 596 (196-224). The gents’ high scores were Quincy VanEkeren 586 (199), Matt Disper 533 (212), Joshua Trott 494 (183) and Lucas Pawley 448 (175).

       In the Marcin SMAA Juniors division, the girls’ best scores were Hollie-Ann Jean 373 (142), Madison Kehler 372 (142) and Caprice Hill 338 (132). On the boys’ side, main scores were Aiden Osborn 484 (210 – 70 pins over average), Manny Ramos 432 (191), Grant Remes 401 (143), and Maximillian Michelucci 154.

      In the Marcin SMAA Preps division, the girls’ main scores were Skylar Thompson 288 (114) and Emily Power 287 (120). The boys’ were led by Joey Windover 417 (167 – 70 pins over average), Kole Parkkila 411, Ryan Pinel 397 (154 – 50 pins over average), Jordan Button 353 (145), Cam Parkkila 336 (131) and Braeden Scott 317 (124).

     In the Marcin SMAA Senior Bantams division, the top scores were Cecelia Rochon 253 (100), Taylor Button 234 (91), and Mya Hanley 200 (86).
