The Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting Bantam C hockey team won the 2015 Woodstock Wildcats Hockey Tournament this past weekend (Jan. 2-4). They finished with a 4-1-1 record.

In Pool Play, they tied BAD Blazers (Belmont/Aylmer/Dorchester) 1-1. Meghan Harvie scored the Sarnia goal.

The next game was a 1-0 loss to Southpoint Stars.

Game three was a 2-1 win over the Saugeen Shores Storm. Scoring for Sarnia was Chloe Busby and Madilyn Fairbairn.

In the quarterfinal game, it was a rematch vs Saugeen Shores. After a rough, physical game, Sarnia emerged with a well-deserved 1-0 win with Macey Leppington scoring for Sarnia.

In the semi-final game, Sarnia was matched up against the Kent County Fillies. After another intense, emotional game, Sarnia emerged victorious with a 3-1 win with Meghan Harvie, Emily Chute and Angelique Aliperti scoring for Sarnia.

This setup a rematch in the Championship Game of Sarnia vs BAD.

This was a very fast, back and forth game with several glorious offensive chances for both teams.

In dramatic fashion with 4 seconds remaining in the game and Sudden Death Overtime looming, the birthday girl, Angelique Aliperti scored with a beautiful backhander off the post and in to seal the dramatic win!
