Lambton Minor Midgets AAA Drop Two

The Lambton Jr.
Sting Minor Midget dropped a
pair of games over the weekend
in Alliance League Hockey
action.
In the first game
the team travelled to Stratford
on Friday and took a 4 - 1 loss
against the Huron Perth Lakers.
Lambton's only
goal was the first goal of the
game by Fraser Wilson at
5:44 in the first period with
Conner Royer and Cameron Rannie
assisting. The Lakers tied
the game at 9:49. The
Lakers then took the lead with a
goal in the second then added 2
more in the third.
Scott Stovel led
the Lakers with 2 goals and
singles by Rhys Vollmer and
Tanner Hertel.
The Lakers
outshot Lambton 29 - 22.
Both sides were scorless on
power play opportunities.
Lambton went zero on three,
Huron Perth went zero on four.
Chaska Thiel was
in net for Lambton made 25
saves. Kyle Morning made
21 saves in net for Huron Perth.
In game the Jr.
Sting returned home and dropped
a 6 - 1 decision to the
Kitchener Jr. Rangers at the RBC
Centre. Kitchener went up
4 - 1 after the first
period and added singles in the
second and third.
Jared Pageau
scored the lone goal for Lambton
assisted by Max Steeves and
Jason VanBommel.
Jason Willms and
Owen Lane each scored twice for
the Jr. Rangers with singles by
Andrew McIntyre and Austin Benko.
Kitchener outshot
Lambton 37 - 11. Kyle
Brinacombe took the loss in net
made 31 saves, Jonathan Heise
earned the win made 10 saves.
Both sides went zero on one
power play opportunity.
Lambton record to
date is 6-17-5 for a total of 17
points and they are in 8th spot
in the standings race.
The Jr. Sting are
back in action next weekend with
two home games at the RBC
Centre. The first on Sat
Jan 10 against Chatham at 3:00
pm and then on Sunday at 1:30
pm.
