Western Counties U15 Split Double Header

Western Counties U15 baseball
team finally got back to playing
some ball after all the rain
cancellations and split yet
another doubleheader this time
with the Walker Homesites Major
Bantam team in Windsor.
Game one saw the Walker
Homesites Hawks defeat the
Wolverines 7-3. Brett Allardyce
got the start and pitched well
over his 3 2/3 innings giving up
just 2 hits, 3 walks and
striking out 4 while Evan Rogers
came in for the final 2 1/3
inning’s giving up 2 hits, 4
walks while striking out 3. But
the Wolverine defense let Rogers
down putting up 4 errors behind
him. The offence was quiet for 5
innings before coming to life
after a Greg Hay out of the park
homerun and a Dillon Timperly 2
run single. Allardyce also
picked up 2 singles in the loss
while Drew Pepper had the only
other hit for the Wolverines.
The never say die Wolverines
exploded for 7 runs in the top
of the seventh inning to come
from behind and take game two
from the Hawks 8-3.
Jake Taylor was the winning
pitcher throwing a complete game
giving up 6 hits, 4 walks and
picking up 4 strikeouts.
With the game tied at 3-3 Drew
Pepper delivered the go ahead
single to score 2 which was
followed up by a Jacob Breault
double . Kyle Blunt added 2 hits
while singles went to Taylor,
Hay and Joel Pavey.
Next action for the 13-7
Wolverines will be the Vaughan
Viking Invitational July 10-12th
in Vaughan, ON.
