Dear Friends of Sarniasports,
After fifteen years of reporting sports in
Sarnia/Lambton I have decided to retire from the daily job of reporting sports.
The website will remain online and I will
continue to post items of interest for those who send their own written highlights and
pictures.
I earned so many rewards in my job over the
years and I come away with many great memories.
I couldn't do it alone, it was a team effort and I want to thank
those who supported Sarniasports.
Special thanks to Jim Morrison, Ruth Ann and Lloyd Windover who were the first
to embraced my idea of reporting news on the internet. I feel I am a pioneer in
online media and proud to say that Sarniasports was the first online news media
in our area. Wow we have come a long way in 15 years!
I would like to acknowledge and send thanks to those who took the time to write
and submit their news articles and invited me to your events. Thank you to
the teams and associations who included me as part as the local news media and
kept me informed.
Most importantly I am truly thankful to my children, Matthew, Andrew and April
and my husband Karl, who
were by my side and encouraged and supported me in doing what I loved to do
most.
One question I thought was funny and strange that people would ask me is
"you must love sports?" I don't know why but that question always kind of
stumped me, but yes I do love sports and I will continue to support our local
teams in the future as a fan and maybe with camera in hand.
Thank you Sarnia/Lambton!
Yours in sports,
Pat Brethauer
