Segers Earned Big Points in Flags Win over Wallaceburg

The Mooretown Flags took an 8 - 3 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers Friday night at home in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey league action.

The Flags went up 2 - 1 after the first led by one after the second with scores at 4 - 3 then in the third broke away and scored 4 unanswered goals. 

Alex Segers had a big night earning five points in the game with 3 goals and 2 assists.  Mike Kindrachuk, Nolan Riley, Jakob Reeves and Colton Osborne each earned 2 points with a goal and assist and Captain Matt Brandon scored 1.

Others assisting on goals were Ben Morrison with 3, Kyle Smith 2 and singles by Landon Wilson and Colin Osler.

Mooretown outshot the Lakers 43 - 27.  Nolan Hakr got the start in net and went the distance with 24 saves.  The Lakers goaltending was shared by George Hill and Alex Carriere.

The Flags went two for five on the power play and the Lakers went one for eight.

Mooretown remains in third place with 24 points (12-7) one point ahead of Blenheim (11-7-1).  The team is back in action tonight (Saturday November 21) when they host the Dresden Kings (7-13-1-0) at 7:30 at the Moore Sports Complex.
