Northern Jr. Vikings Defeats St. Pat's in Exhibition Action

The Northern Jr. Vikings continued a successful exhibition season with a 51-7 win over the St. Pat's Fighting Irish.

The first quarter of the game saw points from the Vikings when Alec Trussler broke free for a long run into the endzone and Angelo Georgio booted the extra point. The Irish put a point on the board when they punted the ball through the back of the Vikings' endzone.

St. Pat's struck first in the 2nd quarter on a run into the endzone for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was wide of the mark. Gabe Barnes and the his Vikings teammates took over the rest of the quarter. Barnes scored three majors on runs of 50, 30 and 40 yards. Georgio made good on two of three extra point attempts.

The Vikings led 27-7 at the half.

Barnes started the scoring off for the Vikings in the 3rd quarter on another touchdown run of 40 yards. The Vikings 2 point conversion attempt was no good. After the Vikings recovered an Irish fumble, Georgio kicked a field goal. Kurtis Hill closed out the 3rd for the Vikings on a 50 yard reception and run for a touchdown. Georgio kicked the extra point.

The 4th quarter saw a single major from the Vikings on an Adam Riggi pass reception and a Georgio extra point.

The Vikings added a rouge and the final score was Vikings 51, Irish 7.
