Vikings Defeat Saunders Sabres
in London

The Northern Jr. Vikings were on
the road for the 3rd game of
their 2015 exhibition season.
They faced the Saunders Sabres
from London and came away with a
30-18 victory.
The Sabres scored first at the
halfway mark of the opening
quarter, but a strong Vikings'
defensive line blocked the extra
point attempt. The Vikings
responded with two touchdowns of
their own on a 20 yard pass from
Alec Trusler to Kurtis Hill ,
and a 50 yard run from Gabe
Barnes near the close of the
half. The Vikings missed an
extra point attempt but made
good on a 2 point conversion on
the Barnes TD.
Kody Lyon and Max Musico had a
hand in two key quarterback
sacks for the Vikings defense.
The score was Vikings 14, Sabres
6 at the half.
The second half saw Vikings'
majors from Parker Kidd, and
Barnes. Georgio made good on
both extra point kicks. Hunter
Hendrie contributed a key
interception for the Vikings on
defense.
The Vikings final points came
when Saunders conceded a safety
in their endzone. The Sabres
added two majors of their own to
close out the game.
The final score was Vikings 30,
Sabres 18.
