The Sarnia Sting were victorious over the Sudbury Wolves winning 5-2 ending
the 3 game road trip on a high note lead by Troy Lajeunesse who scored his
first career hat trick.
The Sting came into Sudbury Sunday afternoon after having the day off
Saturday looking to end the 3 game road trip with 2 points before heading
back home Friday. The Sting came out strong pressuring the Wolves in the
offensive zone creating good scoring chances with good shots testing the
Wolves goalie Troy Timpano early. The sting struck first with goals from
Troy Lajeunesse who scored 2, and Alex Renaud adding the other.
Throughout the game, it was an offensive show for the Sting outshooting the
Wolves 36-30 at the end of the game creating scoring chances, good shots,
and capitalizing on the powerplay which went 1-4.
It was a day of firsts in Sudbury with Noah Bushnell scoring his first goal
of the year, and Troy Lajeunesse adding his first career hat trick which
evidently lead the sting to victory. The Sting played a strong game
defensively killing off all 6 penalties leaving the wolves scrambling.
Justin Fazio had a strong bounce back game making big saves and backstopping
the team to victory.
The Sting finished the 3 game road trip 2-1 getting 4 out of a possible 6
points on the road. The Sting will return home October 9th when the Hamilton
Bulldogs are in town for the first time in franchise history.
