The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Major Atom team played
a pair of games over the weekend. They were able to only garner 1 out of
possible 4 points despite outplaying their opponents in both games.
Saturday saw the Jr. Sting tie Brantford 2-2 and lose a tough one on the
road to Huron Perth 5-4.
Saturday’s tie versus Brantford at the SSEC was
a game of missed opportunities as the Sting could only muster 2 goals
despite several glorious scoring opportunities. Tanner Winegard and Jaxon
Priddle both picked up goals with assists going to Ryan Pageau and Jace
McGrail.
Sunday’s loss at the hands of the Huron Perth
Lakers in Stratford was a tough one. Lambton controlled the play for the
majority of the game; however a few costly defensive lapses resulted in
goals for Huron Perth including the eventual winner at 2:27 of the third.
Aaron Shanks led the attack with 2 goals and 1 assist. Jaxon Priddle and
Adam Maitland added single goals. Ryan Pageau picked up a pair of assists.
Jaxon Priddle and Tanner Winegard each added an assist.
The boys are off to the Rochester Invitational
AAA hockey tournament next weekend and are looking to pick up some wins in
upstate New York.
