The
Lambton Jr. Sting Major Midget AAA team started their season on Saturday and
shut out the Huron Perth Lakers with a final score of 1 - 0.
Both teams came out ready to play and with lots of action back and forth,
the game remained scoreless until 6:13 left in the third when Matthew Hunt
would finally find the back of the net assisted by Bert Thorpe.
Sam Bergeron made 25 saves for the win and shutout for Lambton. Sarnia took
10 minutes in penalties and Huron Perth took 12 minutes.
The Major Midgets are back in action next weekend for two games, the
first on Friday Oct 2 in Brantford then on Saturday Oct 3 back home hosting
Cambridge at the SSEC. Puck drops a 10:30 am.
