On February 5, 2016 the
Forest Xtreme Ringette Tween A
team won the gold medal at the
29th Annual Invitational
Ringette Tournament in Richmond
Hill.
The Tween A team went undefeated
to capture the gold with wins
against Richmond Hill 6-5,
Cambridge 6-1, Markham 7-4,
Guelph 8-2 and in the final they
edged out Cambridge 3-2.
The Forest Xtreme Tween A team
is made up of 12 and 13 year old
girls, many of whom have been
playing for approximately 8
years.
In regular league action after
15 games played the team has 12
wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.
The 2015-2016 has been a very
successful year for the Tween A
team. On November 5 the
team won gold in London at the
35 Annual London Lynx Ringette
Tournament. The Tween A team
defeated Kitchener 8-1, City of
Ottawa 6-0, Gloucester 5-2 and
tied Dorchester 3-3. The final
game against London finished in
a win for Forest with a score of
2-1 winning a gold trophy.
Coming off their win in London
the Tween A team traveled two
weeks later to compete in St.
Catharine’s at the 35th Annual
Ringette Tournament. The Tween A
team lost their first game
against Sudbury 4-8 and went on
to win every game after that
defeating Elora-Fergus 7-0,
Waterloo 7-0, Burlington 7-2 and
London 2-0. The final game
against Sudbury finished in a
win for Forest with a score of
5-1 for the gold medal.
On January 8, 2016 the Forest
Xtreme traveled to Whitby to
compete in the Whitby Annual
Ringette Tournament. The Tween A
team defeated Whitby 10-3,
Gloucester-Cumberland 3-1, Upper
Ottawa Valley 5-1, Dorchester
1-0 and in the final against
Gloucester-Cumberland 2-0 with
Forest winning the gold medal.
The Forest Xtreme are anticipate
to compete at the Provincial
finals in Timmins.
