Sarnia, ON - Basketball and volleyball highlighted
the days action in LSSAA athletics, but curling also
took to the ice this afternoon.
Junior Girls Volleyball
The
Northern Vikings defeated the LCCVI Lancers 3-0 in
junior volleyball, winning 25-6, 25-18, 25-21 in the
three matches. Lena Nicholls won player of the match
for the Vikings while Lauren Ferguson was the player
of the match for the Lancers. Northern moves to 2-1
on the season, while the Lancers still continue to
look for their first victory, as they sit 0-3.
St. Clair
improved to 3-0 on the season and sit in first place
in the junior girls division with a 2-1 victory over
North Lambton. Kayla Griffiths and Emily Williams
won the players of the match. North Lambton is 0-3
to start the season.
Senior Girls Volleyball
St. Clair
improves to 2-1 on the season after a 3-0 victory
over the North Lambton Eagles. Paige Price won the
player of the match for the Colts while Michelle
Martin won player of the game for the Eagles who go
to 0-2 to start the season.
Northern
improved to 2-0 on the season after a 2-1 victory
over LCCVI. The Vikings won
25-19, 25-12 to win the match while the Lancers won
25-22 in their only match win. Shannon Ward won
player of the match for the Vikings, while Erica
Lochner picked up the honour for the Lancers. LCCVI
is 0-2 to start the year.
Junior Boys Basketball
St.
Patrick's remains undefeated to start the season,
picking up a 47-27 victory over the SCITS Blue
Bombers. Paul Whitson was the offensive player of
the game, while Jay McAuley was the defensive. St.
Patrick's has scored 165 points in three games,
while the Blue Bombers move to 1-2 on the season.
St. Clair
also improved to 2-0 on the season, with a 65-48
victory over North Lambton. Mackie and Caldeway
picked up 12 points each for the Colts, while Sam
Gordon had 17 and Mohit Nakhwal had 16 points for
the Eagles. North Lambton now goes to 0-3 on the
season
Senior Boys Basketball
Northern
started the year off with a 65-44 victory over the
LCCVI Lancers. Quinn Dowding was named player of the
game, while Rob Hardick was the leading rebounder
for the Vikings. J. Tuckey had 7 points for the
Lancers, while M. Paisley had 9 points as LCCVI goes
to 0-3 on the year.
St.
Patrick's picked up their second win of the season
with a 72-40 victory over SCITS. Harry Oh and Pat
Taylor were named the offensive players of the game,
while Josh Lockwood got the defensive. St. Patrick's
is currently in first place having scored 163 points
in their first two goals, while SCITS is 0-2 to
start the season.
Boys Curling
In boys
curling, St. Patrick's and North Lambton came to a
3-3 draw after splitting six ends. Both teams are
now 0-1-0-1 to start the season. St. Chris moves to
3-0 on the year with a 6-0 victory over SCITS
