St. Marys, ON -  Jesse Drydak and Louie Rowe each had two goals for the Sarnia Legionnaires, as they edge out the St. Marys Lincolns 6-5 in Junior B hockey action from Friday night.

Sarnia scored all six goals in the first two periods of play, while the Lincolns were able to get three on the power play off of seven chances, with two coming in the third period.

St. Marys had the opening lead, as Mitch McIntosh scored 46 seconds into the game, and Sean Consitt scored 50 seconds later to put the Lincolns up 2-0 in 1:36 into the first.

It would take the Legionnaires most of the period, but they took would answer back and tie things up in a matter of seconds. Drydak got his first of the game, followed by Louie Rowe 44 seconds later to make it a 2-2 hockey game.

But St. Marys would retake the lead as Mitchell Berzins scored the first power play goal for the Lincolns for the 3-2 lead.  But with the Legionnaires still on the penalty kill, Drydak would get his second of the period with a short handed goal to tie it at 3-3 at the end of the first.

In the second, Sarnia would come out with three more goals and hold the Lincolns to only shots on net. Rowe would pick up his second of the game, followed by Jason Teschke for the 5-3 lead. Evan Dixon would score the Legionnaires only power play goal of the game for the 6-3 lead heading into the third.

St. Marys would bring it to a two goal game after Brady Wiffen scored on the power play, and McIntosh would get his second of the game with a power play goal to make it a one goal game. But tie would expire and the Legionnaires would hold on to the 6-5 victory.

Kyle Washer got the start and made 26 saves in the victory.

Sarnia will play next Thursday night at home to the Strathroy Rockets, and will play a week later at home again to St. Marys.
