Sarnia, ON - Wednesday featured another full
day of LSSAA high school sports, including
volleyball and hockey.
On the
ice, LCCVI picked up two wins, both in boys and
girls hockey. The girls shut out SCITS 1-0, while
the Boys handed St. Christopher's their first loss
of the season and improved themselves to 4-0. Troy
Whitely had a pair of goals, while Bret Vandenbroek,
Josh Moore and Ryan Fraser added single goals and
Brad Jacklin picked up the victory for the Lancers.
In
volleyball, three games were played in the junior
girls division.
Northern
defeated St. Clair 25-20, 25-21 and 12-25 to put
them at 5-1 on the season while the Colts fall to
3-3 for the year. Madison Campbell as named player
of the match for the Colts while Cassidy Crowe was
for the Vikings.
LCCVI
defeated North Lambton 25-23, 25-16 and lost 25-16
earning their second victory of the season while the
Eagles fall to 1-5 on the year. Lexine VanLeevzem
was the player of the match for the Lancers while
Emily Williams was for the Eagles.
And St.
Patrick's moved to 3-2 on the season with a 2-1
victory over St. Francois who moves to .500 with a
3-3 record.
In senior
volleyball, LCCVI defeated North Lambton 25-17,
25-22 and 25-23 with a three match sweep, as Erica
Lochner earned the player of the match for the
Lancers and Aleisha Wiendels for the Eagles. LCCVI
moves into second place with a 3-2 record while the
Eagles still look for their first victory at 0-5.
And
finally Northern edged out St. Clair 2-1 with a
25-19, 25-21, 21-25 victory. Melanie Lumby was the
player of the match for the Vikings while Ashley
Bisson was for the Colts. Northern remaines
undefeated at 4-0 while St. Clair goes to 3-2.
