Strathroy, ON - With four goals in six minutes in
the first period, the Strathroy Rockets defeated the
Lambton Shores Predators 6-3 Saturday night in
Junior B hockey.
The
Predators started out quickly with the lead, as Ryan
Rontondi scored 1:38 into the opening period.
Strathroy
would then reply with four goals. Justin Thomas
would opening the scoring and tie the game, followed
by Ryan Field and Jacob Baribeau scoring 1:12 a
apart, as the Rockets kept the momentum going,
earning a final goal from Brian Brosnan for the 4-1
lead. Nick Erb would score for the Predators to the
cut lead down to two heading into the second.
Ferdinando
Colella would score midway through the second period
to bring Lambton Shores within one goal heading into
the third.
The
Rockets would cut the momentum off early, as Brosnan
would get his second of the game, 47 seconds into
the third period. Ryan Field would add a goal three
minutes later, and the Rockets would skate off to
the 6-3 victory.
Brandon
Campbell made 20 saves on 23 shots coming in for
Justin Tugwell who was pulled in the first period
after making 8 saves on 11 shots and allowing three
goals in 12 minutes.
Lambton
Shores will next take on Leamington on Thursday,
December 22nd, their last game of 2011.
