Alvinston, ON - It was a tough weekend for the
Alvinston Flyers who played three straight games
between Friday and Sunday, and walked away with no
points and three losses, including a 5-4 loss to
Belle River on Sunday.
Alvinston
came out with a lead 47 seconds into the game as
Chris Edwards got the Flyers off to a fast start.
But just as quickly, the Belle River Canadiens
scored 46 seconds later, as Donnovan Plummer tied
the game at 1-1.
Belle
River would take the lead later in the period as
Chris DiNatale would give the Canadiens a short
lead, as Chad VanEyk would score a minute later to
re-tie the game at 2-2 after the first period.
In the
second period, Belle River would begin to build
their lead on the Flyers. Jason Clarke put the
Canadiens ahead and Mike Ditty would score 20
seconds later to give the Canadiens a two goal lead
heading into the third.
In the
third period, Jason Koumaris put Belle River up by
three goals early in the period, finishing off three
straight goals by the Canadiens.
Alvinston
would get late chances to cut the game close. Cody
Curts would score with under two minutes remaining,
and Dylan Lightfoot would score on the power play,
but the Flyers only had one second remaining in the
period and would fall short.
James
Morreau got the start and made 35 saves in the loss.
Alvinston
will head to Dresden on Friday, December 23rd.
