Petrolia, ON - Dan Veenema scored with 18 seconds
remaining on the power play to break a 3-3 tie,
giving the Petrolia Squires a 4-3 victory over the
Tillsonburg Thunder.
After a
scoreless first period the Thunder got the scoring
started in the second, as Cody Chute scored to make
it 1-0. Petrolia would find the net twice in the
period to take the lead, first on the power play as
Mitch Zavitz tied the game as well as picking up an
assist on Jason McPhail's go ahead goal.
In the
third, Scott Hull would put the Squires up by two
goals with a short handed goal, but the Thunder
would come back to tie things up. Terry Lammens
would score on the power play, followed by Ryan
Gaertner scoring as well on the power play to tie
the game at 3-3. But Veenema's goal would give the
Squires the victory with seconds remaining.
Petrolia
