Oshawa, ON - Christian Thomas scored three goals in
three minutes and thirty-four seconds for the Oshawa
Generals in the first period of an 8-4 victory over
the Sarnia Sting.
Thomas
would add two assists in the thumping of the Sting,
as the Generals out shot Sarnia 41-26 in three
periods.
Sarnia
started the game with a two goal lead, with both
coming on power play opportunities. Craig Hottot
scored his 10th of the season 2:24 into the period,
and Ludvig Rensfeldt also got his 10th, as Sarnia
jumped out to the 2-0 lead before Thomas spotted his
hat-trick which included a powerplay goal. Reid
Boucher would tie the game near the end of the first
with his 16th of the season.
In the
second Oshawa would retake the lead as Boone Jenner
scored on the power play for the 4-3 lead. Charlie
Sarault would tie the game short handed with his
12th of the season.
In the
third, Oshawa would light the lamp four times on the
Sting on 11 shots. Josh Graves started the scoring,
followed by Andy Andreoff scoring 30 seconds later
for a two goal lead. 43 seconds after that Nicklas
Jensen scored on the power play for the third goal
in just over a minute. Lucas Lessio would add one
more for the Generals.
Brandon
Maxwell made 33 saves in the loss for Sarnia. The
Sting will head back the RBC Centre for a game on
Sunday afternoon Sault Ste. Marie.
