On Friday Dec 23 at the RBC Center the Lambton Minor Midgets hosted the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and won with a final score of 5 - 3.
The Cyclones scored
the only goal in the first period at 8:10
after Tyler Udvari scored a power play goal.
In the second the Jr. Sting came back and
scored 4 goals in just under seven minutes
to take the lead. Matteo Ciccarelli
assisted by Bradley Campbell and Adam
Craievich scored the first goal at 1:10.
Just under a minute later at 2:07 Hunter
Bryce scored giving the Jr Sting the lead.
Matt Vince and Matthew Doidge assisted on
the goal. At 3:38 Matthew Kenney from
Ciccarelli and Carter Allen scored the third
goal and at 6:46 Riley Roberts scored
unassisted. Later in the period
Chatham would add one with Steven Beenackers
scoring. the period ended with
Lambton leading 4 - 2.
In the third both sides shared goals with
Beenackers scoring his second of the night
for Chatham at 2:49 and Dennis Yan assisted
by Adam Craievich scored for Lambton at
6:20.
Lambton outshot the Cyclones 46 - 20.
Cole George went the distance for the Jr
Sting earning the win with a total of 17
saves.
The Minor Midgets will
take a short Christmas break as they are
back in action after boxing day to
participate in the 2011 Toronto
Marlboro AAA Holiday Classic Hockey
Tournament.
