Six in the third leads Point Edward Atom's to 8-1 victory

The Point Edward Atoms scored six goals in the second period to defeat Parkhill 8-1 in Lambton-Middlesex league action.

Both teams started the game chasing after the puck aggressively and Parkhill had the first scoring opportunity of the game but Reinders made a huge save to keep them off the board. The Hawks retaliated with their own opportunity shortly thereafter when King shot the puck and Best got the rebound and slammed it home to make it 1-0. Parkhill played the remaining part of the period very defensively to keep the game 1-0.

Point Edward hit the board early to start when Kennedy forced the goalie to commit and past to Best who had an open netter. Parkhill's defense broke down when the Point were able to get four goals in four minutes by King,Gladwish,Best and Laframboise to extend the Points lead to 6-0. Parkhill finally gained their composure back and kept the Point away from their net. As the period came to a close, Gladwish stickhandle past the defense to make it 7-0 but the Parkhill quickly counter within 7 seconds to end the shut-out.

The third period saw both teams come out and play physical with the Parkhill’s goalie getting pelted with rubber by a strong Point offensive rush. Kennedy & Best hooked up once again when Kennedy intercepted a pass and passed to an open Best who shot from the face-off dot and hit the top corner to make it 8-1. With the Point defense pinching in aggressively, MacDonald had to make two big breakaway saves to keep Parkhill off the board before the period ended and gave the Hawks an 8-1 victory.
