London, ON - With a three game week on their
schedule, the Sarnia Legionnaires started off on the
wrong track, dropping a 4-1 decision to the London
Nationals Wednesday night in Junior B hockey.
After a
scoreless first period, London would get n the board
first as Aaron Dartch scored three minutes into the
second period for a 1-0 London lead.
It would
take the Legionnaires the rest of the period to find
the equalizer, and with the man-advantage, Jesse
Drydak scored his 31st of the season with 33 seconds
remaining in the second period to tie it at 1-1.
Unfortunately for Sarnia there was still time on the
clock in the second, and with 9 seconds remaining,
Paul Hopkins would put London back in front with a
late period goal to make it a 2-1 game heading into
the third.
London
would cement their victory early in the third period
as Ryan Davidson scored 1:20 into the third period
for a two goal Nationals lead. At the 2:58 mark of
the third, Paul Hopkins would get his second of the
game and third point of the game, putting the
Nationals in front by three, and taking the victory
4-1.
Sean
Parker got the start for the Legionnaires and made
17 saves in the loss. Sarnia out shot the Nationals
33-21.
Sarnia
takes on St. Thomas Thursday night at home, and then
heads back out to Leamington on Saturday for their
third game of the week.
