Sarnia, ON -
The Lambton Shores Predators Midget B team finished
off their Silver Stick round robin play with a 4-1
loss to the Chatsworth Rebels Friday afternoon at
the Clearwater Arena.
The
Predators spent most of the game chasing the Rebels
with the puck, as Chatsworth had excellent puck
control through the course of the game, giving up
few chances in their own end.
Chatsworth
would open the scoring in the first with two goals
as Alexa Moore would find Morgan Potter in front of
the net for a redirect shot, putting the Rebels up
1-0. Moore would pick up her second assist in the
period, as Taylor Vokes would throw a shot on net
that would some how get through the traffic in front
and slip past Predators goalie Heather Fraser for a
2-0 Rebels lead after the first period.
In the
second the Rebels would keep the pressure on the
Predators, keeping the puck contained to their zone
for the majroity of the period. Vokes would pick up
her second of the game on the power play, as her
shot from the point would deflect over the goalie to
give Chatsworth a 3-0 lead.
The
power play would continue to hurt the Predators
heading into the third as Pottier would pick up her
second of the game, as she would put away the puck
off a scramble in front to make it a 4-0 Rebels
lead.
Lambton
Shores would finally respond in the third as Chelsea
MacDonald would pick up a puck shot off the end
boards, and bank it off Rebels goalie Michelle
McNabb to break the shutout.
But the
Rebels would get the goal back, as Alexa Moore would
pick up her fourth point of the night, picking up a
rebound off a breakaway to give the Rebels a 5-1
victory.
Lambton
Shores finished the tournament with 1-2 record,
losing to West Seneca 4-1, and defeating North
Halton 2-1.
