Sarnia, ON - The Lambton Jr. Sting and the
Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs tied 3-3 in game three of the
AAA hockey playdowns Monday night in Sarnia.
Lambton
opened the scoring on the power play as Dylan
Riddell put the Sting up 1-0. But the Chiefs would
respond just over a minute later as Curtis Nogueira
would tie the game at 1-1 after the first period of
play.
In the
second period, Elgin would take their first lead in
the game as Russell Oldham made it 2-1 for the
Chiefs. Lambton would respond quickly with their
second power play goal of the game as Spencer
Vandenboom tied it a 2-2. But the Chiefs would
reclaim the lead minutes later as Peter Vanderwyst
put them back in front 3-2 after the second period.
Lambton
would press in the third for the game tying goal,
and it would come midway through the period as Nolan
DeGurse tied the game at 3-3.
Neither
team would find the back of the net for the
remainder of the game, and it would end in a 3-3
tie.
Lambton
won game one of the series 4-2 on home ice before
heading to Elgin for a 6-6 tie. Game four will go
February 10th in Elgin.
