andrew brethauer February 9th, 2012

Barrie, ON - Reid Boucher scored the only goal in the shootout to help give the Sarnia Sting the extra point in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Barrie Colts.

Boucher would pick up the Stings first goal of the night and his 23rd of the season to open the scoring in the first, while in the second period, Craig Hottot would score his 16th of the year to give Sarnia a 2-0 lead heading into the third.

Barrie would find a way back into the game, as Tanner Pearson would score his 31st of the season to cut the lead in half. A minute and a half later, Gregg Sutch would tie it at 2-2 with his 9th of the year.

After four misses in the shootout, Boucher would snap a wrist shot past Mathias Niederberger. JP Anderson would stop Steven Beyers on the Colts final shot, earning the victory. Anderson made 42 saves in the victory.

Nail Yakupov sat this game out as part of his two game suspension for skipping the CHL prospects game.

Sarnia wins their first of a five game road trip as they will head to Sudbury on Saturday and Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday to round out the weekends action.
