Petrolia, ON - The Petrolia Squires take game two of
their best of seven series against the Komoka
Klassics 5-4 Friday night.
The
Squires came out with a first period lead as Chase
Clark would score the opening goal of the game, and
his first of the game, while Tanner Tomlinson picked
up the assist. Petrolia would strike again in the
period, this time on the power play as Greg Bailey
would make it a 2-0 Squires lead after the first
twenty minutes.
In the
second, Komoka would come back quickly, as Dylan
Thomas scored on the power play to cut the lead in
half. 47 seconds later Nick Vergeer would tie the
game at 2-2 with his unassisted goal.
Petrolia
would be able to restore their lead, as Clark would
puck up his second of the game, again assisted by
Tomlinson. The Squires would go up by two as Kyle
Hills would add a late second period goal to make it
4-2 after the second.
In the
third, Clark would finish off the hat-trick, again
assisted by Tomlinson, as they both pick up a three
point night.
Komoka
would get two back to make it a game as Andrew Carey
would score and Vergeer would pick up his second of
the game on the power play to make it 5-4, but that
is as close as the Klassics would get as the Squires
take game two by that final score.
Game three
goes Saturday night in Komoka, followed by game four
next Friday in Petrolia.
