Forest, ON - A three goal third period would erase a
4-2 lead by the Chatham Maroons, as the Lambton
Shores Predators win their sixth straight game and
take a two point lead in the race for the final
playoff spot.
Marco
Canzoneri opened the scoring in the first period to
give the Maroons an early 1-0 lead, as Chatham put
17 shots on net, but could only get the one past
Brandon Campbell.
Brett
Thompson would tie the game in the opening minute of
the second period, but Chatham would retake their
lead as Brennan Feasey scored two minutes later to
give the Maroons their lead. The lead would not last
long as Adam Arseneault would score 56 seconds later
to tie the game at 2-2.
Chatham
would retake their lead just as quickly as 36
seconds later Thomas Eady would put the Maroons back
in front. Sam Studnicka would add a late period goal
to give the Maroons a two goal lead heading into the
third period.
The
Predators would come out quickly in the third as
Corey Pawley would score 29 seconds into the period
to cut the lead in half. Thompson and Arseneault
would each pick up their second of the game to give
the Predators their first lead of the game with 1:23
remaining on the clock. Chatham would not be able to
find the back of the net, and the Predators would
come away with a come from behind 5-4 victory.
Brandon
Campbell made 29 saves in the victory while forward
Corey Pawley was involved in each goal, picking up
four assists to go with his goal. Adam Arseneault
also had four points, picking up two assists.
The
victory gives Lambton Shores three more regulation
wins than Chatham has, and puts them two points in
front. The Predators would head to LaSalle on
Wednesday to take on the Vipers.
