Sarnia, ON - LSSAA high school sports have entered
into the playoff week, as the finals for basketball
and volleyball go this weekend, and teams fight for
a chance to make it to the finals.
The midget
boys basketball final is set, as the Northern
Vikings will take on the LCCVI Lancers after the
Vikings defeated the North Lambton Eagles 67-18, and
the Lancers would defeat the St. Christopher
Cyclones 33-18. Northern finished the regular season
9-0, while the Lancers went 5-4. Northern won both
previous match ups against the Lancers, winning
41-16 and 45-28. The midget finals will go Saturday
at 2:00pm.
In junior
boys basketball, Northern edged by St. Patrick's
53-51. Kobe Lundy had 20 points for the Vikings, and
Manraj Sidhu had 21 points, while T. Garrity had 25
points in the loss for St. Patrick's. Northern will
take on the winner of St. Chris and St. Clair in the
junior final at 4:00pm on Saturday.
In other
action, LCCVI defeated North Lambton 4-1 in girls
hockey, improving their record to 7-0 on the season.
Northern
would pick up two victories in curling over St.
Chris, as the girls won 9-1, while the boys won 7-4.
