Sarnia, ON - The week of LSSAA playoffs continued
with senior girls volleyball and boys hockey getting
their finals set.
The
Lambton Cup will see a new champion this season as
St. Chris will take on LCCVI on Wednesday February
22nd at the Sarnia Arena.
LCCVI
defeated the defending champions St. Clair 7-0 in
the first semi-finals. J. Moore scored two goals,
while B. Trottier, S. Helps and K. Keating scored
single goals in the victory. Brad Jacklin picked up
the shutout for the Lancers who make their return to
the Lambton Cup finals for the 10th time in 11
years.
In the
second semi-final, it was a repeat of last years
semi-final match up between Northern and St. Chris.
It was a year to the day that last season the
undefeated Cyclones lost 1-0 in overtime to the
Vikings, but this season the Cyclones would get
through to the Lambton Cup final with a 3-2 victory.
Joe DeSena, Jamie Vandenberg and Clay Williams
scored each for the Cyclones while Jacon Theoret and
Mitch Pageau-DeRush scored for the Vikings in the
loss.
The senior
girls volleyball final has also been set, as the
Northern Vikings continue their perfect season with
a 3-1 victory over the LCCVI Lancers. Northern won
25-20, 25-17, 25-20, while the Lancers won a single
match 25-23. The Vikings will take on St. Chris in
the final who upset St. Clair 3-0 in the other
semi-finals. Northern and St. Chris will play Friday
at 8:00pm at Lambton College.
The junior
girls final has also been set, as St. Chris will
take on Northern. The Cyclones defeated St. Clair
3-0, while the Vikings defeated St. Francois-Xavier
3-1. The finals will go Friday at 6:00pm at Lambton
College.
