Needing a win to stay ahead of the Chatham Maroons,
the Lambton Shores Predators pulled off a 3-2
victory over the Leamington Flyers Saturday night to
stay in 8th place in the Western Conference playoff
race.
Connor
Annett started the scoring 51 seconds into the
period to give the Predators the early 1-0 lead.
Adam Arseneault would add a late period goal, as the
Predators would lead 2-0 after twenty minutes of
play.
With no
scoring in the second period, the Predators were
twenty minutes away from victory. Leamington would
get back into the game, as Tony Spidalieri would
score on the power play to cut the lead in half.
Five minutes later on a second power play, Jake
Hopfner would tie it at 2-2.
But the
Predators would still find the last goal, as Cody
Trowell would score the game winner with less then
five minutes remaining to pick up the 3-2 victory.
Brandon
Campbell made 21 saves in the victory.
Lambton
Shores now sits two points ahead of Chatham for the
final playoff spot. The team who finishes 8th will
take on Sarnia in the first round of the playoffs.
