St. Thomas, ON - For the first time in franchise
history, the Lambton Shores Predators are heading to
the playoffs after a 4-2 victory over the St. Thomas
Stars Sunday night.
The
Predators scored twice in the first period 50
seconds apart as Cody Trowell opened the scoring
followed by Corey Pawley to give Lambton Shores a
2-0 lead after the first twenty minutes.
St. Thomas
would get one back on the power play as Braden
Hellems would score, but 54 seconds later, Adam
Arseneault would get his own power play goal to put
the Predators back in front by two. Davis Boyer
would cut the lead back down to one just over a
minute later, but the Predators would still hold a
3-2 lead heading into the third.
In the
third, Arseneault would pick up his second of the
game midway through the period, putting the
Predators back up in front by two. St. Thomas would
put 16 shots on net but Brandon Campbell would stop
all 16, as the Predators would go on to the 4-2
victory.
The
victory puts Lambton Shores four points a head of
Chatham, who only have two games remaining. Brandon
Campbell made 33 saves for the victory.
Lambton
Shores will take on Strathroy on Saturday and look
towards their first round match up with Sarnia.
