Sarnia, ON - With four goals in the third period,
the Sarnia Sting came from behind to defeat the
Guelph Storm 5-4 Saturday night, winning their
second in a row on the weekend.
Guelph had
an early 2-0 lead in the first period as Zach
Mitchell scored 1:46 into the first period for his
30th of the season, while Francis Menard put the
Storm up by two six minutes later.
Reid
Boucher would respond in the opening minute of the
second period with a power play goal, but the Storm
would answer back with their own power play goal as
Cody McNaughton would replenish the two goal lead.
With
Sarnia still down by two, Ryan Spooner would get his
27th of the season on the power play to once again
cut the lead in half. Three minutes later, Ludvig
Rensfeldt would tie the game with his 18th of the
season. 41 seconds later Nail Yakupov would give
Sarnia their first lead of the game, as Sarnia score
three straight goals.
Jason
Dickinson would tie the game midway through the
third period on the power play, making it a 4-4
game. But with three seconds remaining in the
period, Yakupov would get his second of the game and
30th of the season to give the Sting the 5-4
victory.

Anderson made 29 saves in the victory, earning his
24th win of the season.
Sarnia
will finish off the schedule in February heading
back up to Sault Ste. Marie for the second time this
month to take on the Greyhounds on Wednesday.
