Sarnia, ON - The Lambton Shores Predators will head
into the playoffs on a losing note, as they dropped
the final game of the season to the Strathroy
Rockets 7-2 in Junior B hockey Saturday night.
The
Predators had a two goal lead to start the game as
Kyle Brothers opened the scoring in the first
followed by Corey Pawley with a short handed goal,
as Lambton Shores lead 2-0 after twenty minutes.
But seven
straight unanswered goals would give the Rockets the
victory. Ryan Field would score the only goal in the
second period on the power play to cut the lead in
half.
In the
third, Derek Nap would tie the game, and just over a
minute later Ryan Field would get his second of the
game to put the Rockets in front. Stuart King would
score on the power play as Strathroy took a two goal
lead midway through the period.
With
Lambton Shores being out shot 16-6 in the third, the
Rockets would score three more in the third as Jacob
Baribeau, Greg Milner and Tyler Duarte would each
tally goals in the 7-2 victory.
Lambton
Shores would be out shot 42-31 in total, while
Justin Tugwell got the loss making 26 for 29 saves
before being pulled for Brandon Campbell who allowed
four goals on 13 shots.
Lambton
Shores will take on the Sarnia Legionnaires in the
first round of the playoffs.
