Sarnia, ON -
The Sarnia Sting returned home after last weeks road
trip, and without Nail Yakupov in the line up the
Sting defeated the Plymouth Whalers 4-1 Friday
night.
Ludvig
Rensfeldt lead the Sting with a pair of goals,
scoring first in the first period, and adding his
second at the start of the second period to put
Sarnia in front 2-0.
Reid
Boucher would get his 22nd of the year past Scott
Wedgewood, and Conner Murphy would score his 5th of
the season in the second period as Sarnia scored
three goals in the second to take a 4-0 lead into
the third period.
In the
third, Stegan Noesen would break the shutout JP
Anderson held, scoring just a minute 24 into the
third period.
But
Anderson would close the pads the rest of the way
and with 21 saves, he would earn his 4th win as a
member of the Sting and 19th victory overall on the
season.
Friday's
game will be Sarnia's only home game in 10 games, as
the Sting got off a four game road trip where they
went 1-2-1, and will head back out on the road for
their next five games.
