LaSalle, ON - The LaSalle Vipers scored three
goals in the second period and would add the game
winner on a penalty shot to give the Sarnia
Legionnaires a 4-3 overtime loss Wednesday night.
Sarnia
would open the scoring in the first as Brent Sauve
would get the periods only goal.
LaSalle
would come out in the second and answer back with
three goals in eight minutes, as Dylan Denomme would
tie the game, while Chad Shepley would score on the
power play to give the Vipers their first lead.
Jonathan Woelk would add the third goal as the
Vipers took a 3-1 lead.
Sauve
would score his second of the game on the power play
to cut the lead down to one by the end of the second
period.
In the
third, Jason Teschke would tie the game on the power
play, but despite 12 shots on net, Sarnia could not
get another goal to go ahead.
In
overtime, Ryan Speers would get a penalty shot
opportunity and would make it count, scoring on Sean
Parker and giving the Vipers the victory.
Parker
made 27 saves in the loss.
Sarnia
hosts St. Thomas on Thursday night and Leamington on
Saturday night.
