andrew brethauer January 16th, 2012

Sarnia, ON -  The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA Minor Midget's finished their series with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Monday night with a 4-1 victory, sweeping their series in three games to move on to the quarter finals.

Lambton dominated on the power play in the first period, scoring all three of their goals with the man advantage within four minutes of each other. Dennis Yan opened the scoring for the Sting, followed by Adam Craievich less then two minutes later. Adam Wammes would get the third power play goal, as Lambton took a 3-0 lead into the second.

Yan would pick up his second of the game and 5th of the playoffs to give the Sting a 4-0 lead.

Cole George would almost complete the shutout, but Andrew Del Greco would slip one past. George would end up with 23 saves in the victory, stopping all but one of the 24 shots he faced.

Lambton previously defeated Chatham 6-1, 10-0 and in their earlier games to get the sweep.

Lambton will now wait on the East bracket to finish their round 1 series, and could possibly play either Cambridge or Waterloo in the second round.
