Sarnia, ON - Team Outfitters has taken a 7-4
lead on Team Micor Sports in the LSSAA Boys Hockey
All-Star Classic after a 6-4 victory Tuesday night
at the Sarnia Arena.

"It was
fun. The kids had a real good time playing and it
was played the right way, just a better organized
game of shinny," said LCCVI coach Bob Gould who help
coach Team Outfitters.
Micor
Sports got the early first period lead as Troy
Whitley of LCCVI beat Patrick Brennan of St. Chris
for the only goal in the period.
In the
second, Harrison McCrie of SCITS would be stopped by
Brennan on a penalty shot, who finished the game
making all but one stop, while his counter part on
Team Outfitters Brad Jacklin stopped all shots he
faced before being switched mid period.
With new
goalies, Team Outfitters would strike quickly to tie
the game, as Tyler Annett of Northern beat his own
goalie Brandon Johnson, evening it at 1-1.
But Team
Micor would still get out of the period with the
lead as Mike Brown of St. Chris would bank a pass on
a 2-on-1 passed St. Clair goalie Steven Taylor
to putting Micor ahead 2-1.

In
the third the scoring would open up, as Team
Outfitters would tie the game in the opening minutes
as Luke Stephens of LCCVI would tip a Sam McCormack
shot passed Johnson for the 2-2 tie.
The game
would stay tied till the last four and a half
minutes when the teams would open up for six goals.
Kalen Hellinga of St. Clair would snap a wrist shot
past his own goalie to put Micor back in front, but
seven seconds later, Dan Bowling of SCITS would
redirect a pass past Johnson to once again tie the
game.
Outfitters
would then take their first lead of the game as
Jamie Vandenberg of St. Chris would fight off a
defencemen and slide a low shot through Johnson's
pads for the 4-3 lead.

With under
a minute to go, Micor would pull their goalie for
extra attacker and tie the game up for a fourth
time, as Ben Sokol of Northern would find the puck
in the slot and put a shot past Taylor for a 4-4
tie.
Team
Outfitters would answer right back and fast, as
Tyler Annett would pick p his second of the game 15
seconds later, coming in fast on Johnson and scoring
top corner to put Outfitters back in front. With
seconds ticking away, Joe DeSena of St. Chris would
get one more by Johnson as Outfitters go on to the
6-4 victory.
The LSSAA
boys hockey finals will be on February 22nd at the
Sarnia Arena.
