Sarnia, ON -  The Sarnia Legionnaires fought back with three goals in the third period to force overtime but would have to settle for a single point after a 4-3 loss to St. Mary's Thursday night in Junior B hockey.

St. Mary's had the first and second periods only goals as Bryan McCauley made it 1-0 Lincolns after the first and Calvin Penney made it 2-0 after the second.

Shawn Waldie would get Sarnia on the board midway through the second period scoring his 14th of the season to cut the lead in half. The Lincolns however would restore the two goal lead after Brady Wiffen put a shot by Kyle Washer for a 3-1 St. Mary's lead.

Sarnia would press to close the gap and just over a minute later Michael Sollazzo would cut the lead down again to make it 3-2. With seconds remaining, Jesse Drydak would tie the game, sending it into overtime.

In the overtime period, St. Mary's would find the back of the net, as Mitchell Berzins scored, giving the Lincolns the extra point.

Kyle Washer made 23 saves in the loss while Sarnia outshot the Lincolns 40-27.

Sarnia will head to Chatham on Sunday to take on the Maroons.
