Guelph, ON - The Sarnia Sting have lost two straight
following a 3-1 loss to the Guelph Storm Sunday
afternoon in Guelph.
Guelph got
a very quick start on the Sting, scoring 23 seconds
into the period as Hunter Garlent scored his 8th of
the season to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.
The storm
would make it a 2-0 lead following Zack Mitchell's
23rd goal of the year, but Sarnia would be able to
get one with 12 seconds remaining in the first, as
Connor Murphy scored his 3rd of the season on the
power play to make it a one score game at the end of
the first period.
Sarnia
would get 12 shots in the second period but still
could not find the back of the net. In two periods
the Sting would out shoot the Storm 28-11, but
Guelph still held the lead heading into the third.
In the
third, Francis Menard would put the Storm back in
front by two goals, scoring on the power play with
just over two minutes remaining in the period.
Sarnia could not capitalize on some late power
plays, and would drop the game 3-1.
In total,
Sarnia had 36 shots on net, while the Storm had 25.
JP Anderson made 22 saves in the loss.
Sarnia is
on the road next weekend, visiting Ottawa,
Belleville and Kingston Friday through Sunday.
