Chatham, ON - The Sarnia Legionnaires went into
their second overtime of the week, only this time
coming out on top with a 4-3 victory over the
Chatham Maroons Sunday night in Junior B hockey.
Chatham
got on the board first, as Marco Canzoneri scored
midway through the first period to give the Maroons
a 1-0 lead.
Jason
Teschke would follow up in the period with a pair of
goals, one of which was short handed, as the
Legionnaires got out of the period with a 2-1 lead.
In the
second the Maroons would make it a tie, as Nate
Pietens scored the lone goal of the period.
In the
third, Chatham would retake the lead as Brennan
Feasey scored to make it a 3-2 Chatham lead. But the
lead would not last long as Derek D'Andrea scored
just under a minute later to tie the game at 3-3,
and sending it into overtime.
In the
extra period, Jesse Drydak would pick up the game
winning, scoring just 26 seconds into the overtime
period.
Drydak
ended the game with a goal and two assists, while
Teschke also had a three point night, getting the
helper on the Drydak goal. Sean Parker made 41 saves
for his 11th win of the season.
Sarnia has
played overtime in three of their last five games,
and will look for a victory over the Lambton Shores
Predators on Thursday, January 26th.
