Sarnia, ON - It seems as if the Sarnia Legionnaires
are going to score against the Strathroy Rockets,
they are going to score in four's. This after a four
goal second period Sunday night in a 4-2 victory to
put them up two games to one in their second round
series.
Sarnia
scored nine goals in Saturday's win, including four
goals in each the first and second period.

"We
started slow which did not surprise me after last
nights game," said Legionnaires Head Coach Dan Rose.
"After the first period we got a little bit focused
and they came out hard in the second. Our penalty
kill was excellent tonight."
Sarnia
killed off all 11 power play chances the Rockets
had, while scoring on two of their five chances.
Tyler
Duarte had both Strathroy goals, scoring to open the
game in the first period, and finishing in the third
with a goal 23 seconds into the period.
But it was
the second period that was the game changer, as
Sarnia scored twice on the power play and once short
handed and once even strength. Steve Farlow tied the
game at 1-1 with a power play goal, followed by
Tyler Cicchini with the even-strength goal.
Michael
Sollazzo would add a short handed goal in what would
be the eventual game winner, while Jason Teschke
would score the second power play goal of the
period.
Rose
comments that the veteran leadership is starting to
step up, and was a major factor in securing the
victory as it shut the Rockets down in the third
period, ending any early momentum they had from
Duarte's second goal.

"When you
have older players you hope come playoff time their
experience and their wisdom comes through," said
Rose. "Don't get rattled, just keep plugging away
and good things will happen."
Kyle
Washer made 25 saves in the victory, while Sarnia
again out shot the Rockets 32-27.
Game four
will go Tuesday in Strathroy, with game five back in
Sarnia on Thursday.
