andrew brethauer March 25th, 2012

Saginaw, MI - The Sarnia Sting came from behind twice and Tyler Brown won it in overtime, as the Sting even up their series with the Saginaw Spirit with a 4-3 overtime victory Saturday night.

Sarnia found themselves down by two goals, as Carlos Amestoy would score the only goal in the first period early on, while Garret Ross would score on the power play in the early minutes on the second period to give the Spirit a 2-0 lead.

Sarnia would rebound on the power play, as Nail Yakupov would get his first playoff goal to cut the lead in half after the second period.

In the third, more power play time would help the Sting, as Ryan Spooner would find the back of the net just 1:35 into the third to tie it at 2-2.

Josh Shalla would put the Spirit back in front minutes later, but the Sting would be quick to respond as Anthony DeAngelo would score 21 seconds later to tie the game at 3-3, resulting in overtime.

In the extra period Sarnia would find the game winner quickly, as Tyler Brown would score just under four minutes into overtime, not only winning the game, but tying the series at one game each.

JP Anderson made 43 saves on the night for the victory.

Game three will go Monday night in Sarnia.
