Saginaw, MI - For the third straight game, the
Sarnia Sting and Saginaw Spirit have needed overtime
in their playoff series, only this time the Spirit
would score last, winning 4-3 and tying up the
series at 2-2.
Saginaw
had a 2-0 lead midway through the first period as
Garret Ross scored his fourth of the series three
minutes in, while Josh Shalla would add his second
of the series. Sarnia would cut the lead in half as
Brett Thompson would get his first of the series to
make it a 2-1 game after the first period.
In the
second, Sarnia would eventually find the tying goal
late in the period as Nail Yakupov scored his second
of the playoffs late in the period.
Sarnia
would continue the momentum into the third scoring
their third straight goal as Nathan Chiarlitti would
score his first midway through. But the first Sarnia
lead would only last 65 seconds as Brandon Saad
would get his fourth of the playoffs to tie the game
at 3-3.
Unlike
game three that took nearly sixteen minutes to
finish overtime, Shalla would beat JP Anderson just
1:48 into the extra period to put the Spirit over
the Sting 4-3 and knot the series as 2-2.

Despite
the loss JP
Anderson was outstanding in net making 46 saves on the night in the loss.
Jake Paterson made 21 saves for the Spirit
Sarnia had
won both game two and three in overtime. The series
returns to Sarnia for gave five on Friday night.
