Sarnia, ON - The Sarnia Sting's season came to an end Saturday night in Saginaw, as the Spirit defeated the Sting 3-1, winning the best of seven series 4-2.

Saginaw scored the only goal in the first period as Justin Kea scored short handed, beating out JP Anderson on a foot race to make it a 1-0 Saginaw lead after the first twenty minutes.

Anderson would be pulled after an injury in the second period, and would be replaced by Brandon Hope.

Vincent Trocheck would put the Spirit up 2-0 on the power play, scoring his second of the series, as the Spirit were one period away from finishing the series.

In the third, Reid Boucher would score early in the period to cut the lead in half. Michael Finn would respond three minutes later on the power play, restoring the Saginaw two goal lead.

Sarnia would get into penalty trouble for the remainder of the period, and the clock would run out on their season, as Saginaw would come away with a 3-1 victory, and finish the series.

Both Anderson and Hope made 15 saves each, with Hope allowing two goals on 17 shots. Sarnia was out shot in the game 33-24.

Sarnia will now get ready for the OHL draft which takes place next Saturday.
