Forest, ON - The Sarnia Legionnaires made it four
victories on the Lambton Shores Predators home ice,
winning game two of their best of seven series 3-2
Saturday night, and taking a 2-0 series lead.
Nathan
Mater scored the first periods only goal to give
Sarnia a 1-0 lead, while Shawn Waldie would start
the start the second period putting the Legionnaires
up 2-0 with a quick goal.
The
Predators would cut the lead back down to one 33
seconds later as Ryan Rontondi would get his first
goal of the playoffs. The rally back would continue
as a minute later, Brett Thompson would score a
power play goal to tie the game at 2-2.
The
scoring in the second would not be finished, as
Mater would pick up his second of the game late in
the period in what would the game winning goal after
a scoreless third period.
"We played
three good periods. The bounces didn't go our way,
but we didn't quit. We deserved a better out come"
said Predators Head Coach Mark Davis.
Kyle
Washer made 23 saves for the victory while Brandon
Campbell made 24 saves in the loss.
Sarnia now
holds a 2-0 series lead. Game three goes Sunday,
March 4th at 7:10 at the Sarnia Arena.
